Access Agra Court Records

Your first step in an Agra case is figuring out which government actually holds it. City ordinance matters go through Agra's city clerk, who keeps the municipal side of Agra court records. Anything filed in the Kansas trial system, whether criminal, civil, probate, or domestic, sits with Phillips County District Court instead. The city offers no online docket portal. Even so, you can reach records several ways: online, by phone, at a public terminal or counter, by email or mail, or with a focused written request.

Agra Court Docket Searches

Don't assume Agra has its own online docket search. The city posts no hearing calendar, municipal caseload report, or case lookup page. Start with the paper in hand. A citation, notice, or filed pleading names the court that issued it. Is it an Agra ordinance case? Then call the city clerk and ask how to get the current court record. If it belongs to Phillips County District Court, take the statewide trial-court docket search plus the district clerk. That route will serve you better than any city page.

  1. Collect the court name, case or citation number, date, and record type from the notice.
  2. Call the Agra city office for a city ordinance or possible municipal record.
  3. For a state case, open Kansas CaseSearch and accept its terms if you agree.
  4. Choose Phillips in the live location list and search by exact case number when possible.
  5. Open the matching result and read the latest public event, hearing, and case status.
  6. Use the Phillips courthouse terminal, clerk counter, telephone, email, mail, or written request when online details are missing.

A phone contact and a docket search tool do two different jobs. Don't type a clerk's name into an Agra CaseSearch box, because a name is not a location. The same goes for a general city page: it can tell you about Agra offices, but it is not a court docket database and will not pull up case records.

No Agra Docket Portal Located

Agra offers no verified municipal docket portal. That gap does not mean the city has no ordinance cases on its books. It only means your questions about an Agra court date or filing should go through the official city contact. Skip some invented link. The city posts no daily docket. It posts no court-day schedule, no judge page, and no count of municipal filings. So skip the online hunt and call the office that holds the record.

Agra search gap: Ask the Agra city clerk where a specific ordinance or municipal record is kept and how it may be inspected or copied.

Kansas CaseSearch still works well for Phillips County state cases. Just don't read it as proof that every city matter is online. When a docket search comes up empty, the cause may be simple: the wrong court, an old file, a restricted case type, a seal, an expungement, or a record that was never converted for guest access.

Inside the Agra Municipal Court

Agra's municipal court handles city ordinance violations, a job the state gives it through K.S.A. 12-4104. The city posts no separate municipal court site and no online docket of its own. So the Agra city clerk is your best first call for any Agra court docket question. The clerk can tell you whether the city holds the record or sends it somewhere else.

Where a case happened does not decide where it lives. A state charge stays a state case even inside Agra city limits. Criminal, civil, probate, domestic, juvenile, and small-claims filings all sit in the Kansas trial system. Those cases belong to Phillips County District Court. Read the court name on your paperwork and go there.

Keep your question tight when you call. Ask who holds the citation or ordinance case. Ask what case number identifies it. Also ask how you can inspect or copy the file. A narrow request works far better than asking for every record tied to a name.

Agra Clerk and Public Works Contacts

The Phillips County local-cities directory is the official listing for Agra contacts. It names the city clerk and public-works roles. It puts the city office at 222 Main and gives the phone number 785-638-2811. Call the clerk for an ordinance case. Public works has no court records and should not get docket requests.

Ask the city clerk for the current custodian, inspection channel, and copy procedure for a specific Agra municipal record.

Gather a few details before you dial. Have the case or citation number, a rough date, and the office that issued it. Then ask about your options for the clerk. Can the request go by phone, email, mail, or an appointment? The county directory lists a city email route too. But skip sending sensitive identifiers through an ordinary message.

Finding Agra Court Dates

Agra publishes no public municipal calendar. Take any city court date from the latest official notice and confirm it with the city clerk. For a state case, run a Kansas CaseSearch lookup by case number or other public criteria, then check the latest hearing with the Phillips County District Court Clerk before you drive over.

DateThe scheduled day on the newest notice or public event.
TimeThe listed start or docket-call time, which may not be an individual hearing time.
LocationThe court and room stated by the issuing office. Do not assume 222 Main or the county courthouse.
Judicial officerThe assigned judge when the public record or notice supplies one.
Setting typeThe purpose, such as arraignment, pretrial, hearing, trial, review, or compliance.

A continuance request alone changes nothing on the calendar. The setting stands until a later order or event actually moves it. If you have a lawyer, ask that lawyer too, since counsel may hold the current notice.

Agra City and State Cases Differ

A case filed in Agra city court does not become a Phillips County district case by itself. When a violation is adopted as an Agra ordinance, it stays on the municipal route unless an appeal or another lawful filing transfers it. State charges and civil claims filed in district court, though, appear in the Phillips County events index. Each route keeps its own case numbers, clerks, settings, payment methods, and copy procedures.

Getting this split right is what keeps your docket request from landing at the wrong office.

Agra Traffic Ticket Lookups

An Agra traffic ticket can start two different ways. It may be a city ordinance citation. Or it may be a state traffic case filed with the court. Read the agency and court name printed on the ticket before anything else. There is no Agra-specific ticket search or payment portal. For a city citation, ask the Agra clerk about the docket. Ask also about the deadline and how to pay or contest. For a state case, turn to Kansas CaseSearch and the Phillips County District Court Clerk.

One caution about payment screens. A payment screen is not a full Agra court record. It may show only enough detail to accept an eligible payment. The events index in a docket can list settings, filings, actions, and disposition entries. An order or receipt supplies its own separate proof. Paying a ticket and contesting it are different choices. Each carries legal effects worth weighing first.

For more on how state and municipal cases divide, see the broader Phillips County traffic court resource. Whatever the route, confirm the current court date and instructions with the court named on the citation.

Agra Small-Place Access Options

Agra is tiny, and Phillips County stretches across wide open country. That makes a phone call worth more than a long drive. Nobody wants to reach Phillipsburg and leave empty handed. Before traveling, ask the office that actually holds the record. Ask what your options are. For a state case, ask the District Court Clerk. The office can walk you through internet guest access, the courthouse terminal, counter review, email, mail, or a written copy request for the court docket you need.

  • Use Kansas CaseSearch for basic public state case information.
  • Call the Agra clerk for an Agra ordinance or municipal record route.
  • Call or email the District Court Clerk before traveling for a state case.
  • Use the Phillips courthouse terminal for additional public converted material.
  • Mail a focused request when a counter visit is not practical.

Always ask about copy costs first. Kansas law allows charges for copies, staff time, review, and redaction, and advance payment is sometimes required. Agra publishes no current municipal fee schedule, so treat no flat amount as settled until the clerk tells you the figure.

How Agra Cases Reach the County

A municipal guilt finding does not have to be the last word. Under K.S.A. 22-3609, it can be appealed into district court. From the moment the appeal lands there, the Phillips County District Court Clerk keeps the district record. Keep the two files straight. The original Agra municipal record and the later district case stay separate. One database entry will not cover both.

Not every Agra case starts in city court. Some matters begin at the district level and skip the municipal route entirely. For the full county picture, the Phillips County court docket overview lays out the search process and the court hierarchy step by step.

Agra State Record Details

Kansas Rule 21 gives the chronological case list two names. One is an events index. The other is a register of actions. For an Agra state case open to the public, that list can carry the case number, court location, type, status, filed date, parties, counsel, judicial officer, hearing events, and disposition. It is a log, though, not a filing cabinet. A line on the index does not hand you the motion, exhibit, transcript, or signed order behind it.

Events index
The court’s administrative chronological list of filings, actions, and events.
Setting
A scheduled hearing, conference, trial, or review.
Disposition
The indexed outcome of a charge, claim, or case stage when public.
Certified copy
A copy authenticated by the court clerk for an official purpose.

Older records may live only on the courthouse terminal. Files never converted to the portal may sit in the clerk's paper files. That is where Lauren Schmidt, Clerk of District Court, comes in. Her office sits at 301 State Street, Suite E, Phillipsburg, Kansas 67661. Call 785-543-6830 or write to pldc@kscourts.gov. You can also visit on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays.

Agra Railroad and Civic History

The official Phillips County history of Agra traces the town to settlers who arrived in 1888. It also notes incorporation in 1904. It ties the community to a Rock Island Railroad station and recounts how the city got its name. That civic story belongs to Agra alone. Logan, Kirwin, and Long Island each carry different histories of their own.

Local history is background, not a court schedule. Nothing in that account creates an Agra municipal portal. Nor does it offer a modern calendar of city cases. Real access still runs through the district clerk and the verified routes already described.

History can explain why a small city keeps its own identity. It cannot decide jurisdiction. The issuing law, the court, and the filed record decide. They determine whether an Agra matter stays with the city or moves into Phillips County District Court.

Agra Population Sources Explained

Two official counts, two different answers. The 2020 Census place data rank Agra third among incorporated places in Phillips County. It lists 208 residents. The county's local-cities page separately cites an ESRI 2021 figure of 287. The datasets and years differ. Keep each number with its own label instead of forcing them into one population claim.

Population figures help you write clear phone and mail instructions. They say nothing about caseload. No official city report counts Agra cases, and state district statistics should never be repackaged as Agra municipal totals.

Who Can See Agra Court Records

Access to court records is not unlimited. Court rules, statutes, redaction, and case-specific orders all shape what a guest may see. Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22 permits portal and courthouse-terminal viewing while walling off sensitive categories. Some categories stay hidden. Adoption, juvenile, protection-order, certain domestic, guardianship, and other protected cases may simply not appear to guests.

Agra access rule: A missing result can reflect the wrong court, an old or unconverted file, a restricted category, a seal, or expungement.

Kansas Rule 24 protects defined personal information. K.S.A. 45-218 supplies the general request framework.

Keep sensitive data out of routine requests. That means no full birth dates, Social Security numbers, account numbers, credentials, or protected-party information. The clerk may redact exempt fields. It may withhold confidential material or send the request to another office. And remember: not online does not mean no record exists.
